RFE event: Europe’s Rail Joint Undertaking: the future of rail research and innovation

Rail Forum Europe (RFE), the MEP platform dedicated to rail transport, organised a webinar on 8 September titled "Europe’s Rail Joint Undertaking: the future of rail research and innovation". The event featured: an introductory statement by RFE Chairman MEP Andrey Novakov (EPP, BG), moderation by UNIFE Managing Director Philippe Citroen and speakers included: Carlos Morais Pires, Member of Cabinet, Commissioner Mariya Gabriel (Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth), Michael Haddad, Innovation & Partnerships Director at ALSTOM, and Carlo Borghini, Executive Director at Shift2Rail Joint Undertaking.

Participants, including RFE full and associate members, Members of the European Parliament, representatives from the European Commission and from Member States joined the lively discussion which addressed the topic the future of innovation in rail, the sector's place in connecting Europe's cities and regions, as well as rail as part of the future of mobility.
